Vintage Tofani Door (Star Door)

This is the best Mid-Century modern door we've recovered to date.

This excellent vintage piece was discovered in Point Breeze. We looked up the address and this door has been at that location for almost 100 years. This is a quick refinish for anyone, you don't need any experience to bring revitalize this door. All you gotta do is sand this baby down and paint/stain to your liking. This authentic piece of Philly history can will turn your row house into a row home.

The Tofani doors were made in the first half of the 20th century, in the Colonial Revival style. Tofani doors are distinct paneled wood doors with beveled glass panes, etched at the center of each is a starburst design. A single dot with rays of light emanating from the centerpoint. There are several different shapes of window – a keyhole, a porthole, a heart, or a square with a curved-top. The glass was purchased from the H. Perilstein Glass Company. Founded in 1898 Perilstein had a few workshops around  6th and South to 5th and Lombard.
